Unlock Algernon Wasp's requests

Finish The Gilded Cage in Chapter 4, then visit Algernon in the greenhouse on the northern edge of Saint Denis. Duchesses and Other Animals has five collection lists. Return each completed list to Algernon to receive the next.

Here, one checkbox means you have the entire required quantity of that item. It is not a count of individual orchids or birds. Keep the current in-game request beside the checklist when reconciling your inventory.

Plan by region, then check the exact plant

Use Bayou Nwa as the base for bird plumes and gator eggs. Orchid trips spread farther: Lady Slipper takes you toward western West Elizabeth, Moccasin Flower toward Butcher Creek, Sparrow's Egg west of Annesburg, and Dragon's Mouth into Grizzlies East. These are broad search areas, not guaranteed spawn coordinates.

Many swamp orchids grow on tree trunks; other species grow on the ground. Match the plant name before collecting. A convenient nearby orchid does not necessarily satisfy the active list. Keep a separate note of the location you checked so a later return is deliberate rather than another blind circuit.

A practical collection workflow

1. Choose the active request filter. Keep the other lists hidden while reconciling a delivery so you do not count items against the wrong stage.
2. Audit before travelling. Compare the requested quantities with the satchel. Tick only finished groups; leave a partial stack unchecked.
3. Separate supply from delivery. The final row records the hand-in. Leave it empty until Algernon accepts the request.
4. Take the next list before planning again. Repeat the inventory audit instead of assuming the next stage is already complete.

Across the five lists, the arithmetic is 65 plumes, 25 eggs and 92 orchids: 182 collected units across 19 item groups. The progress bar counts those groups plus five hand-ins; it is not an inventory counter.

If you appear to be one orchid short, check whether the corresponding request is active before repeating a search route. Red Dead Wiki describes pre-request orchid collection limits. That is a useful check, not a guarantee that every missing plant has the same cause. We do not assume bird spawns are guaranteed at a particular minute.

Where do I deliver exotics?

Return the active list to Algernon Wasp at his greenhouse in Saint Denis. This is not the hunting-request mail system.

What does a checkbox count?

One completed quantity group, or one hand-in. For example, the Heron Plumes row means all 20 requested plumes, not a single plume.

What is the final quest reward?

The completed chain awards the Exotic Hat and Algernon's Revolver. Cash payments are not tracked by this planner.

Keep the collection goals separate

Check the Exotics objective in your 100% plan after verifying the quest in the game. If your next task needs whole animal bodies, switch to the hunting-request planner; feather collecting and intact-carcass delivery have different requirements.
