RDR2 High Stakes Treasure: Map 2, Map 3 & Gold
High Stakes ends with three gold bars. The clue chain runs from a treasure hunter to Cumberland Falls → Barrow Lagoon → Bacchus Station.
Get the starting map
After The New South in Chapter 3, look for the random treasure-hunter encounter. Take his map to start. If repeated encounters have been missed, check a Fence for the starting map.
Map numbers can be confusing: “Map 2 location” can mean where you pick up Map 2 or where its drawing sends you. Use the table to match the map already in your satchel.
| You currently hold | Go to | Collect |
|---|---|---|
| Map 1 | Cumberland Falls | Map 2, behind the waterfall |
| Map 2 | Barrow Lagoon | Map 3, inside the fallen log |
| Map 3 | Cliffs near Bacchus Station | Three gold bars |
High Stakes Treasure Map 2 solution
If you need to find Map 2, use the log beside Cumberland Falls to reach the recess behind the water. If you already have Map 2, go to Barrow Lagoon. Search the fallen tree that bridges the rocks by the frozen water; the next clue is in a hole in the log.
High Stakes Treasure Map 3 solution
Travel to the heights between Fort Wallace and Bacchus Station. Start above the river and bridge, follow the narrow ledges downward, and search the rock recess for the bars. This is a ledge approach from above, not a river-level entrance.
Save before the descent and move on foot. The linked walkthrough includes screenshots and video for the individual drops; use those if the ledge shape does not match your position.
Turn the reward into cash
Sell the three bars at a Fence for $1,500 total. Choose a Fence location, or follow the separate Jack Hall Gang treasure route.
Before leaving each stop, open your satchel and confirm the next map was collected. Arriving at a landmark is not the same as taking its clue.
