RDR2 Legendary Fish Locations — All 13

Before you set out

• Normal bait will not work. You need Special Lake, River or Swamp Lures.
• Start the quest first. Speak with Jeremy Gill at Gill Landing after completing A Fisher of Men, then buy the three special lures in Lagras.
• Checklist scope: these 13 fish are separate from the Northern Pike mission and the later Jeremy Gill encounter. This page does not confirm weather-dependent catch rates.
• Mail them, do not carry them. Ship each catch to Jeremy Gill from any post office.

After the 13: Jeremy Gill's invitation

The guides describe a follow-up invitation after the 13 fish have been mailed. It is outside this checklist. Our previous wording implied that a River Lure was a verified way to catch a bonus catfish; no gameplay evidence was recorded for that claim, so that instruction has been withdrawn.

Sources and correction note

September 7, 2026: the Largemouth Bass entry now recommends the Special River Lure. Both PowerPyx's location guide and RDR2.org's fishing guide recommend it for the San Luis River location. The old Lake Lure label conflicted with those sources.

This is a source-based correction, not a new gameplay test or a claim that other special lures can never work. No game build, platform or save-state test was recorded for this revision. Other locations remain a fan-reference checklist, not independently retested coordinates.
