RDR2 PC Requirements, Download Size and Storage Guide
RDR2's published PC requirements list 150 GB of storage, 8 GB RAM minimum and 12 GB recommended. The supported operating system in Rockstar's requirements is 64-bit Windows 10. The storage figure is not a promise that your download will be exactly 150 GB.

These are the publisher's specifications, not a benchmark from this site. Rockstar also requires account sign-in, activation and periodic entitlement verification. Check the current support article before buying hardware specifically for the game.
How many GB is RDR2?
Use 150 GB as the published PC storage requirement, then check your launcher's actual installation and update prompts. Download size, installed files and temporary update space are different things. Compression and updates mean a quoted download number is not a universal figure for every storefront and date.
Before downloading, check the free space on the drive you selected, not just the total capacity printed on the drive. Leave room for the launcher and its update process rather than filling the drive to the limit. We do not invent an exact extra-space allowance or a guaranteed current download size.
Can your PC run it well?
Meeting a minimum specification does not guarantee the resolution, quality preset or frame rate you personally want. Compare the exact CPU, GPU, graphics memory and RAM in your machine with the table. A similarly named laptop GPU should not automatically be treated as the desktop part listed here.
For a useful performance comparison, look for a benchmark using your hardware, resolution, preset and game version together. A generic gameplay trailer is not a test of your PC. This guide deliberately separates verified requirements from performance predictions.
What about RDR2 on Mac?
The official PC specification checked for this article lists Windows, not a native macOS release. Do not interpret “available on Steam” as “works on every Steam-supported operating system.” Compatibility-layer or streaming experiments are not publisher-supported Mac requirements, and we have not tested them here.
Which PC store and edition should you choose?
Start with the current listing for the store you plan to use and check its account requirements and bundle contents. The official Steam product page is a useful reference, not a permanent lowest-price offer. Avoid assuming that an old giveaway headline establishes a current free license.
Read the edition comparison before paying for extras. If the different PC dates are confusing, use the console, PC and Steam release timeline. Once installed, start with the Story Mode checklist.
